Current research interests

My current research focuses on improving our understanding and prediction of hydrological processes at the catchment scale. Particularly, I am interested in contributions of different flood triggers during flood (and drought) events, interactions between climate change (changes in climatic variables) and changes in floods (droughts), and different aspects of uncertainty in hydrologic and water quality (sediment) models.

My specific research interests cover but are not limited to:

  • Uncertainty quantification
  • Data-driven approaches
  • Bayesian methods
  • Multi-objective, multi-data & multi-model inferences
  • Big data analysis
  • Machine learning
  • Intelligent parameter sampling
  • Floods & droughts
  • Extreme flow estimates
  • Flood typology
  • Effects of climate change
  • Hydrologic modeling
  • Sediment modeling
  • Hydrologic signatures
  • Alpine & poorly gauged catchments
  • Rating curve uncertainty
  • Value of data
